PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The No. 2 Wesleyan women's crew team saw the 2
nd varsity 8 and varsity 4 boats get wins over No. 5 Williams, but the Ephs triumphed in the varsity 8 and 3
rd varsity 8 races to reclaim the Little Three Championship on Saturday morning from Onota Lake.
The Cardinals' 2
nd varsity 8 and varsity 4 boats claimed the two wins on the day for Wesleyan, with the 2V8 clocking in at 6:56.61 in the 2000m race while the Ephs finished just over three seconds behind with a time of 6:59.69. Just one year removed from losing to the Williams 2V8 by just under 10 seconds in the 2024 Little Three Championships, the Cardinals' 2
nd boat showed great improvement this season in claiming a convincing win.
Another boat that shook off a loss last season was the varsity 4 as Wesleyan clocked in at 8:18.92 to defeat the Ephs who crossed the line in 8:27.52. Wesleyan's varsity 4 lost to the Ephs by more than 25 seconds in last year's Little Three Championships.
Williams, however, won the 2025 Little Three Championship with the varsity 8 taking the first place finish with a time of 6:43.24. Wesleyan's top boat clocked in at 6:48.84. The Ephs also claimed a win in the 3
rd varsity 8 race, crossing the line in 7:16.76 while the Cardinals finished in 7:33.23.
This race concludes the regular season for Wesleyan who now prepare for the New England Championships on May 3 in Worcester. Wesleyan is coming off a third place showing last season at New England's.
