Jacelyn Lees Named One of 10 Finalists for NFCA Div. III National Freshman of the Year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Ten finalists, one from each of the NCAA's 10 regions, have been selected by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-America Committee for the 2025 NFCA Division III Freshman of the Year award. Among the 10 finalists is Wesleyan softball first-year pitcher Jacelyn Lees '28, as Lees represents Region I for the national honor. Already named First Team All-Region at pitcher, Lees makes headlines as the Region I finalist for National Freshman of the Year after dominating in the circle in her rookie season. Posting a 14-2 record, Lees had a 1.60 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 100. 1 innings, striking out 62 and walking only 13. She tossed 10 complete games with six shutouts and led the nation in ERA for the first month of the season, allowing just one earned run in her first 42.1 innings. The 2025 NESCAC Rookie of the Year also hit .327 with a .792 on-base plus slugging percentage in 55 at-bats, totaling 18 hits and three doubles with one home run and 12 RBI. Lees shined against Williams, throwing a complete game three-hit shutout while driving in the only run in a 1-0 win that secured the Cardinals' first-ever sweep of Williams as well as the 2025 Little Three Championship.
