MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan women's lacrosse coaching staff was honored by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) as the 2025 Berkshire Region Coaching Staff of the Year. Wesleyan's staff of head coach
Kim Williams, associate head coach
Clara Bissell, and assistants
Peyton Mulhern, Bre Cavanaugh, and
Jesse Hollander '28 earn the distinction following another strong year for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals completed another sensational season under head coach
Kim Williams and her staff, winning 15+ games for the third straight year while prolonging a streak of seven straight double-digit win seasons in non-COVID impacted campaigns. Wesleyan rattled off seven straight wins including a 13-10 triumph over Middlebury in the NESCAC Semifinal, as the Cardinals snapped the Panthers' 67-game win streak in the process.
With that win over Middlebury, Wesleyan advanced to the NESCAC title game for the second straight year and later qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the seventh straight non-COVID impacted season. The Cardinals defeated Babson and Rowan in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Quarterfinal round (Elite 8) for the second time in team history.
Williams previously won the Berkshire Region Coach of the Year in 2017 for her efforts in leading the team to what was then a team record in overall wins (11) and NESCAC wins (7). The IWLCA made a switch in 2024 to recognize Coaching Staff of the Year.
