MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -
Lindsey Diomede '26 of the Wesleyan women's lacrosse team earned NESCAC Co-Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is Diomede's first career Player of the Week honor while she becomes the first Cardinal to earn NESCAC POW honors since the 2024 season.
Diomede played a massive role for the No. 2-ranked Cardinals, who went 2-0 this past week with a pair of wins over ranked opponents, where Wesleyan allowed just nine combined goals. For the week Diomede totaled 10 caused turnovers, six ground balls, and six draw controls. The senior recorded four draw controls, four caused turnovers, four ground balls, and one assist in a 12-5 road win over No. 16 Stevens. Against Colby, Diomede added six caused turnovers, two ground balls, and two draw controls, helping lift Wesleyan to a 10-4 win over the Mules. The win marked the first time the Cardinals have beaten Colby since 2019. Wesleyan's defense totaled 21 caused turnovers, a school single-game record against a NESCAC opponent.
Wesleyan (4-0, 2-0 NESCAC) is on the road this upcoming week, with a Tuesday game at Endicott and Saturday afternoon trip to Bowdoin.
