CLINTON, N.Y. – It was one-way traffic for the No. 19 ranked Wesleyan women's squash team who landed six 3-0 sweeps on their way to an 8-1 win over No. 23 Hamilton on Saturday afternoon from the Little Squash Center. The Cardinals improve to 5-3 with the win while the Continentals drop to 3-6 on the season.
Wesleyan dominated play throughout, especially in the #5 through #9 spots in the lineup as only one of those matches took over 20 minutes to finish.
Caroline Caiati '28 posted the most-convincing win on the day, dropping just eight points on her way to a 11-3, 11-4, 11-1 win over Mila Karimov at #8.
Saara Saini '28 needed just 16 minutes to defeat Pippa Neupert at #9 in a 11-3, 11-2, 11-6 win.
Frances Guenther '28 took down Kathryn Swords at #7 in a 11-5, 11-3, 11-6 win while
Leandra Sze '26 won a more competitive 3-0 sweep as she defeated Chiara Nadel 11-9, 11-, 11-7 at #6.
Jaclyn Dichter '26 continued the winning run at #5 where she took down Sydney Hellinger 11-5, 11-9, 11-3 in 19 minutes.
Aanya Anand '26 needed extra points in both the second and third game in her match at #3, but ultimately secured the 3-0 sweep over Diya Dhillon 11-3, 12-10, 12-10.
The remaining two wins on the day for Wesleyan both came in four games as
Avika Pande '26 won her match at #2 over Poppy Huffman 13-11, 11-5, 2-11, 11-6 and
Katherine Risden '28 defeated Lily Spencer 11-6, 11-9, 13-11, 11-7 at #4.
The Cardinals are back in action with three matches at home in the coming week, starting with a Thursday morning match against William Smith starting at 11 AM.
