BRUNSWICK, ME. - The Wesleyan women's squash team opened 2026 on the road, falling to No. 18 Bowdoin College on Wednesday afternoon in a 9-0 sweep from Bowdoin's Lubin Family Squash Center. Wesleyan falls to 3-3 on the season as Bowdoin advances to 2-3.

HIGHLIGHTS:
- In a nearly hour long match at #3, Aanya Anand '26 ran a five-game campaign with Bowdoin's Kira Gwadry. Anand took a two-game lead over Gwadry in games one and two but it was Gwadry that rallied four in a row to earn the 3-2 final score with 11-13, 9-11, 13-11, 11-6, 14-12 game tallies.
- At #5, Katherine Risden '28 cut Clare Collins' lead in half after a 2-0 leg up, but Collins finished the 3-1 win at 11-6, 11-5, 8-11, 12-10.
- Leandra Sze '26 also had a third game win at #8, running 13 points on Elizabeth Kennedy. Kennedy finished the match 3-1 at 11-6, 11-7, 11-13, and 11-5.
- Facing Cory Spiegel at #8, Frances Guenther '28 tied the match up at one, landing a 12-10 win in game two, but could not finish the 3-1 win as Spiegel finished 11-4, 10-12, 11-8, 11-8.
The Cardinals return to action on Thursday, Jan. 8, when they host No. 20 Dickinson College at 1 p.m.
