BOSTON, MA. - The power of teamwork was on proud display by the Wesleyan men's track and field team on Saturday afternoon as three relay teams shattered school records at the New England Division III Championships.
Steve Paul '28 broke three of his own individual records, leading the way for a stunning close to the weekend.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The Cardinals placed 10th of 30 institutions competing in Boston, the highest finish for the men in over a decade. Amherst won the event.
- Besting the previous record time of 3:22.61 set on Feb. 13, Alex Hofmann '29, Reese Connors '29, Jack Park '29, and Paul ran a combined 3:20.25 in the 4x400m relay, placing seventh.
- The relay teams were not done, this time it was the 4x800m team of Bruce Lenes '26, Alex Kermath '26, August Doetsch '29, and Liam Calhoun '26 running a 7:48.22 for sixth place, breaking the 21-year record time of 7:49.96 set in 2005 by Chris Greene, Nik Gavelis, Owen Kiely, and Matt Moss.
- The Cardinals went on to place second in the distance medley relay as Kermath, Hofmann, Calhoun, and Doetsch clocked a school record time of 10:04.12, besting the previous record 10:06.87 set in 2013 by Austin Cotant, Jack Pacelle, Sam Roth, and Skyler Cummins.
- In the men's 200m, Paul ran a final 21.45, placing second as he broke his own record of 21.81 set last season at the same event.
- Paul's efforts in the 60m dash gave way to two broken records as he ran a 6.86 in the preliminary before crushing his finals time with an 8.84. Paul previously tied the school record, 6.93, on Dec. 6, 2025.
- Placing seventh in the 3000m, Noah Mahoney '27 crossed the finish line at 8:28.18. Dylan Cote '28 ran a 4:13.28 in the mile, placing ninth.
The Cardinals will take the week to prepare for the Tufts Final Qualifier beginning Friday, March 6, in Medford, MA.
