HARTFORD, CT. – Solid performances on Saturday propelled the Wesleyan men's track & field team to a fourth-place finish at the Trinity Invitational, hosted by Trinity College, besting nine other schools from the field of 13 that took part in the competition as Wesleyan boasted three, first-place victories.
RESULTS
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Steve Paul '28 won the 100m dash, racing to a 10.82 final as the leading Cardinal in the sprint events. Reese Connors '29 followed, placing fifth with an 11.14 finish. Paul went on to place second in the 200m, running a 21.53.
- The 1500m went to Liam Calhoun '26, the senior taking first as he crossed the finish line with a 3:54.33. Alex Kermath '26 placed fifth with a 3:57.06.
- Marking a stellar finish for the Cardinals, Dan Irish '29 won the 3000m steeplechase, the highest finish for a Cardinal in the event since Kevin McMorrow '20 placed second at the 2019 Silfen Invitational. Irish ran a final 9.43.0 with Calder Burke '27 placing second at 9:47.87 and Tate Celebi '29 earning third with a 9:52.90.
- The 4x100m relay team of Neil Bulchandani '28, Auren Director '29, Connors, and Paul placed fourth, combining for a 42.62 finish.
- From the field, Ethan Dangel '28 returned a fourth-place finish in the discus throw, reaching 43.88m.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, April 25, as they head to Williams for the 2026 NESCAC Championships.
