MIDDLETOWN, Conn. –
Amanda Phillips '28 of the Wesleyan women's golf team is listed as one of six individual golfers to qualify for the 2026 NCAA Division III Championship held at the Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California. In addition, Phillips earned her second straight All-NESCAC First Team honor, as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
Phillips is now a two-time NCAA Qualifier and two-time All-NESCAC First Team selection as she continues to shine for the Cardinals in just her second collegiate season. Phillips heads into the NCAA Championship ranked No. 35 among all golfers across the nation at the Division III level while she remains the only Cardinal in program history earn All-NESCAC First Team honors.
The sophomore has put together another sensational season, appearing in six tournaments during the 2025-26 season with 12 total rounds played. Phillips shined in the season-opener at Middlebury, placing in a tie for fourth out of 69 golfers with a 77-80-157 (+15) at the George Phinney Golf Classic. She followed with a team-leading performance at the Williams Fall Invitational, shooting 76-74-150 (+8) where she had five birdies in 36 holes to finish in a tie for 11
th out of 97. Phillips closed out the fall with a 74-74-148 (+2) at the Polar Bear Shootout, helping Wesleyan finish with the best scoring weekend in team history.
The spring portion of the schedule began with the Hartford Blackledge Invitational where she finished in 12
th place with a 78 (+6) in the 18-hole tournament. She led the Cardinals at the Jack Leaman Invitational with a 78-75-153 (+9), good enough for a tie for 14
th place. Phillips then shined at the NESCAC Championship, shooting 75-71-79 (+12) to again lead the team, placing in a tie for 5
th out of 39 golfers.
Phillips heads back to the NCAA Championship for the second time in her career, looking to improve on last year's performance where she placed inside the Top 100 out of nearly 200 golfers in the field.
