MIDDLETOWN, CT. - As results roll in through the first two weeks of the season, Wesleyan men's soccer senior captain Yousuf Saeed earns the first NESCAC Player of the Week nod following three stellar performances that place Wesleyan with an unbeaten record.

Saeed picks up his first conference weekly honor as a Cardinal after scoring a goal in all three games played. The Cardinals opened the season with an upset of the reigning national champions, No. 1 Tufts, shutting out the Jumbos 2-0 with Saeed scoring the game-winning goal. The Jumbos' 23-game unbeaten run came to an end. The senior also scored the go-ahead goal in a 5-2 home win versus Swarthmore on Saturday. His marker in the 53rd minute put the Cardinals up 2-1 in a game they trailed 1-0. 

The Cardinals return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 15, when they travel to Brandeis for a 7 p.m. start.
