MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The men's swimming and diving team impressed in Saturday's CT Cup, placing third out of eight teams. They totaled 375 points on the day, just beating out Hamilton college (374.5) for third place. Connecticut College took second with 445 points, while No.24 Coast Guard placed first with 567 points. Wesleyan had one first place finisher in
Harrison Hong '25 who won the 100 back with a time of 52.54 seconds. He has now won this event the past two meets, after coming in second the two meets prior.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The men performed well in the 200 Medley Relay putting together a time of 1:37.72, which was good for fifth place (Harrison Hong, Jeremy Kim '23, Eric Tran '23, David Kantar '25)
- In the 500 free, Mason Polaner '24 placed fourth with a time of 4:47.17
- Hong had a strong overall day, placing secnod in the 50 Back with a time of 24.06 which was only nine hundredths of a second off of the first-place finisher. He also finished second in the 50 Fly finishing in 23.20, again finishing right behind the leader (Derek Ledford (CGA) -23.05)
- Eric Tran '23 also put together a solid showing, finishing top three in two individual events to go along with the fifth place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. He placed third in the 400 IM with a time of 4:15.39. He also finished third in the 100 Fly with a time of 52.11
- Jake Rybczyk '24 also finished third in two events Saturday. He competed in the 1-meter dive with a score of 190.15, as well as the 3-meter dive where he had a score of 180.40
