MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's golf team opened the 2021-22 season with a 310-333 loss to Eastern Connecticut State on Wednesday afternoon from the Lyman Orchards Golf Club. The Warriors posted the top three lowest cards on the day including an impressive two-over par 73 for ECSU sophomore Ashton Lewis.
Noah Cate '22 led the way for Wesleyan, carding an eight-over par 79, as he was the lone Cardinal to shoot in the 70s for the day.
Daniel Kraft '23 and
Jacob Fain '23 each followed with an 84 while
Tom Holley '23 posted an 86 for the day.
Other Cardinals who competed but did not score included Mike Dolce '24 (87),
Eli Epstein-Lubow '23 (87),
Owen Cannizzo '24 (91) and
Aryaman Himatsingka '24 (92).
Wesleyan next heads out on the road for the Duke Nelson Invitational from Sept. 11-12 hosted by Middlebury.
