MIDDLETOWN, CT. – Earning the top seed in the NESCAC for the first time in program history with zero losses on the books, the No. 4 nationally ranked Wesleyan women's soccer team will make their sixth-straight year in a row and will play host to #8 Connecticut College on Saturday, Nov. 2, Homecoming Weekend. Kickoff will be at 12 p.m. at Jackson Field.
Wesleyan Scouting Report
- Unbeaten at 12-0-3 overall and 7-0-3 in the NESCAC, the Cardinals will make their 12th tournament appearance in 24 years as they earn the #1 seed in the NESCAC for the first time. With zero losses this season, the Cardinals set a new program record 15-game unbeaten streak.
- The Cardinals are looking for their first NESCAC title, having lost twice in 2021 and 2022.
- Against ranked opponents this season, the Cardinals are 2-0-2, beating Williams and Tufts.
- Despite falling to Amherst in the NESCAC semifinal, the Cardinals earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament but fell to Misericordia, 3-0.
- The Cardinals returned 20 players this season, including Molly Brumbach '26 and Katie O'Connell '25. Head coach Eva Meredith recruited a seven-woman freshmen class.
- Offensively, the Cardinals have outscored their opponents 28-5.
- Cardinals were named Little Three Championship co-champions with Amherst.
Cardinals to Watch
- Joining the Cardinals as part of the freshmen class, Meredith Feiner '28 leads the Cardinals in scoring with five goals. Tallying an additional two assists for 12 points, Feiner scored the lone goal against the Camels in the regular season finale. Feiner has three game-winning goals on the books this season but is not the only member of the freshmen class to keep an eye out for.
- O'Connell returns as the Cardinals' points leader at 16 with four goals and eight assists. O'Connell, with two game-winning goals, has started all 15 games this season and is 1-1 in penalty kick opportunities. O'Connell notched a five-point game in the season opener, scoring one goal and assisting on three. O'Connell ranks first in the NESCAC in shots (3.67 average), first in shots on goal (2.13 average), and second in assists with eight.
- Stefanie Stoj '26 and Maria Utz '27 have collected near identical stat sheets with three goals and two assists for eight points. Stoj has two game-winning goals and was named the NESCAC Player of the Week after recording both of those game winners in back-to-back games.
- Allowing only five goals against this season, the Cardinals' defensive core have been the star of the season. Tori Rideau-Winds '26, Caty Clements '25, and Sheridan Snow '28, have logged a combined 3,626 minutes as Clements and Snow have both recorded two goals. Clements, whose goals are both game-winning goals, is 2-2 in penalty kicks. Clements is the post-season veteran for the defense having started in the 2021 championship game, the 2022 finals, and all three post-season games in 2023.
- Highlighting a career season with a 10-0-3 overall record, Brumbach will be starting in goal for the Cardinals. Making 13 starts in 13 games played, Brumbach has only allowed five goals this season, marking .400 goals against average. On 90 shots faced, Brumbach has made 47 saves and holds a .904 save percentage. This season Brumbach recorded eight shutouts, a career-high, and ranks first in the NESCAC. Brumbach also ranks second in the NESCAC in goals against and save percentage.
Camels Scouting Report
- With one title from 2014 under their belt, the Camels will be making their 12th tournament appearance on Saturday.
- The Camels ended the regular season with a 5-8-2 overall record, going 2-6-2 in the NESCAC as they collected the #8 seed.
- The Camels lost to every ranked team on their 2024 schedule except for the Cardinals.
- In last year's quarterfinal round the Camels lost to Bowdoin, 1-0.
- The Camels boast 12 goal scorers and five multi-goal scorers but have been outscored 23-19.
Camels to Watch
- Ella Gazo sits as the Camels' points leader at 10, scoring three goals and four assists. Gazo has one game-winning goal but has not scored since Sept. 14, against Bowdoin.
- Starting in all 15 games this season, Clare Mulvihill has also recorded three goals and one assist for seven points. Mulvihill's last goal was Oct. 22, against Trinity.
- On defense, Lexi Guidaitis has seen action in all 15 games played and started, recording a goal and an assist for the Camels.
- Ella Kahrl will most likely start in goal for the Camels having made 15 starts this season. Kahrl is 5-8-2 overall with one shutout on the season. Kahrl's record stands at 20 goals against and 1.40 goals against average. In 147 shots faced, Kahrl has made 63 saves with a .759 save percentage.

- The Cardinals and Camels will face off in their 43rd meeting all time on Saturday. The Camels have bested the Cardinals 20-14-8 over the years.
- In the last four meetings between the Cardinals and the Camels the games ended in a draw.
- The last regular result was a 2-1 Cardinals loss in 2018; however, the last Cardinals win was a 2-1 double-overtime victory in Oct. of 2015.
- This will be the first tournament matchup between the Cardinals and the Camels since the tournament's inception in 2000.

- The Cardinals and the Camels closed the 2024 regular season in New London, CT in a 1-1 draw on Oct. 29. Both teams will be very familiar with each other heading into Saturday's quarterfinal round.
- Feiner scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season to open the game at 36:27 of the first half.
- While the Cardinals allowed only one shot through 90 minutes of game time, the lone Camels shot was the game-tying goal from Mae Mastrullo.
