BRUNSWICK, Me. – The Wesleyan men's golf team finished in ninth place out of 10 teams at the 2024 NESCAC Championship, hosted by Bowdoin College at the Brunswick Golf Club. Tufts jumped up three spots in the team leaderboard to capture the NESCAC title while Hamilton finished as the runner-up.
As a team, the Cardinals shot 327-326-653 (+77) for the weekend, with both
Owen Cannizzo '24 and
Fisher Hirsch '26 finishing tied for the team-lead.
Competing for the final time in his career, Cannizzo finished with an 81-78-159 (+15) for the weekend, shaving three strokes off his stroke total in round 2 from his round 1 score. Cannizzo birded twice in each round, finishing with a team-leading four for the weekend.
Hirsch carded a 79-80-159 (+15) for the weekend, finishing with Cannizzo in a tie for 36 out of 50 individuals on the player leaderboard. Hirsch carded 12 pars in round 1 and 10 pars with one birdie in round 2.
Also competing for Wesleyan was
Zach Liu '26 who finished 87-82-169, knocking five strokes off his round-by-round totals between Saturday and Sunday. Jonathan Harlukowicz '27 went 84-86-170 for the weekend while
Puthip Puvacharoen '24 went 83-89-172.
