MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's golf team hosted the 2025 Little Three Championship on Tuesday from the Lyman Orchards Golf Club. In the unique match play scoring format, Wesleyan took third place while Amherst was crowned the Championships and Williams finished as the runner-up.
Starting with four-some alternate shot matches, Wesleyan managed a 2-2 split with the Ephs as
Lev Abramson '28 and
Zach Liu '26 defeated Hunter Justice and Peter Aznar-Klien while Nate Lawerence '28 and Henry Kathwala '28 took down Ben Sapovits and Toby Foehl in the morning session. The Cardinals did not amass any points against Amherst, with the Mammoths claiming wins in all four of the four-some groups.
Moving to singles matches in the afternoon, Abramson added to his point totals on the day, taking the full point with a win over Owen Nielsen of Williams while he split a point against Andre Zhang of Amherst. In total, Abramson accounted for 2.5 of the four total points scored on the day for Wesleyan.
Jackson Hayes '27 was the lone other Cardinal to earn points in the singles portion of the schedule, as the sophomore split his match with Paari Kaviyarasu of Amherst.
The Cardinals now prepare for the season finale with the three-day NESCAC Championship hosted by Williams at Taconic Golf Club on April 25-27.
