MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Wesleyan men's golf team opened the 2025-26 season over the weekend at the Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury College at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course. The Cardinals finished with a two-day stroke total of 637 (325-312) which was good enough for 18
th place out of 20 teams.
Johnathan Harlukowicz '27 led the Cardinals on the weekend with a 76-77-153 (+11) which placed him in a tie for 32
nd place on the player leaderboard out of 106 golfers. Harlukowicz opened with a 76 (+5) on Saturday in a round that featured 11 pars and one birdied and he followed that up with a 77 (+6) on Sunday, recording three birdies in his round.
Lev Abramson '28 was the next-highest finisher for Wesleyan as the sophomore shot 84-74-158 (+16). His second round 74 on Sunday was the low round of the weekend for the Cardinals. After shooting 37 (+2) on the front 9 with seven pars, Abramson fired another 37 (+1) on the back 9 with back-to-back birdies on the par 4 15
th hole and par 5 16
th. Abramson shaved 10 strokes off his opening round 84, moving up 21 spots on the player leaderboard to finish in a tie for 65
th place.
Rounding out the lineup for Wesleyan was
Gavin Sendar '28 who went 82-82-164 (+22) while
Jackson Hayes '27 shot 86-79-165 (+23) and
Fisher Hirsch '26 joined Hayes with a two-day total of 165 (83-82). Sendar had three birdies in his opening round on Saturday plus one more on Sunday to finish with four on the weekend.
Wesleyan is back in action on September 20-21 with a trip to Williamstown for the Williams Invite at the Taconic Golf Club.
