MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Competing against some of the toughest competition in the country, the Wesleyan men's swimming & diving team had some quality performances turned in on Saturday as the Cardinals welcomed No. 11 ranked Williams, No. 15 Tufts and WPI for a quad meet.
The Cardinals claimed their first victory of the season, defeating WPI 207-102 in team scoring, but fell to the Ephs (256-59) and Jumbos (262-54) on the day.
Eric Tran '23 had the best individual performance of the day as the senior posted a runner-up finish in the 200 fly, claiming second-place with a time of 1:52.53.
Harrison Hong '25 continues his stellar start to the season, picking up three Top 10 finishes in individual events while also helping lead the Cardinals' 200 free relay team to a fifth-place finish. Hong placed fifth in the 50 fly with a time of 22.83 seconds before taking ninth in the 200 free (1:45.06) and eighth in the 100 free (47.83).

David Kantar '25 competed well in the stacked field, taking fifth-place out of 22 relay teams a time of 1:26.20.
Other Cardinals who finished in the Top 10 of their respective event included
Richard Ettinger '23 in both the 50 breast (27.24 seconds; 10
th) and 200 free (1:45.65; 10
th), Polaner in the 50 free (21.58 seconds; 6
th) and 400 IM (4:10.75; 9
th),
Daniel Isman '26 in the 200 breast (2:10.87) and
Devayan Roychoudhury '26 in the 100 breast (59.90; 8
th).
Jake Rybczyk '24 added a fourth place finish in the 3-meter dive with a score of 223.30.
Wesleyan heads into winter break with their next competition slated for Wednesday, January 4 as the Cardinals welcome Hamilton in for a 4:00 PM start from the Webster Family Natatorium.
