WATERFORD, CT. – With 118 points in a field of 24 institutions, the Wesleyan men's cross country team claimed fourth place at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships on Saturday afternoon, the highest team finish in program history as four runners earned All-Region and All-New England honors.
RPI won the championship with 29 points. The Top 5 was made up of Williams in second with 76 points, Middlebury in third with 118, Wesleyan, and Amherst closed out in fifth place with 137 points. Roger Williams' Nathan Tassey won the individual event with a 24:03.40.
The Cardinals were led by freshman runner
Dylan Cote '28 who ran a personal record time of 25:06.50 in the men's 8k, coming in at 18. Cote earns his first-career All-Region honors and picks up his first ever All-New England honors as one of the Top 20 runners from a New England area school.
Liam Calhoun '26 was right on Cotes' heels and crossed the finish line in 19
th place. Calhoun ran a final time of 25:07.20 and earns his second-career All-Region and All-New England honors. Placing 25
th,
Noah Mahoney '27 ran a 25:24.30, earning his second-career All-Region and All-New England accolades.
Running a clocked time of 25:28.50 to cross the finish line in 29
th,
Alex Kermath '26 was the final Cardinal to earn All-Region and All-New England awards. Kermath earns the honors for the first time.
The Cardinals were not quite done as three more would finish in the Top 100. Nathan Fogarty '25 placed 40
th, running a 25:48.20.
Zach Allen '27 finished with a 26:23.30 for 54
th. And
Will Wise '26, finished in 77
th as he ran a 27:02.30.
The Cardinals await the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23, in Terre Haute, IN.
