MIDDLETOWN, CT. – Placing third out of eight teams, the Wesleyan men's cross country team played host at the Cardinal Invitational on Saturday morning as 13 Top-50 runners were led by sophomore
Noah Mahoney from the Wes Furman Trails Cross Country Course.
Finishing the morning with 77 points, the Cardinals fell in line behind winner Amherst (37) and Tufts (46). Following the Cardinals were Vassar (113), Union (N.Y.) (143), Suffolk (MA) (173), Endicott (201), and New Haven (215). Union's Ryan Russell won the invitational with a time of 24:25.21.
Mahoney led the charge as one of the two Top 10 finishers, placing eighth as he crossed the line at 25:12.34. Mahoney kept a 5:04 mile pace. Falling right behind Mahoney was
Alex Kermath '26 in ninth place, running a final time of 25:13.39 and a 5:04 mile. Rounding out the Top 20,
Liam Calhoun '26 finished at 13
th, clocking in at 25:25.27 as
Will Wise '26 crossed just five spots behind in 18
th with a finish time of 25:31.08.
