MIDDLETOWN, CT. - The Wesleyan men's swimming and diving team hosted the two-day Jayden Szkirka Memorial Championship, the first home meet of the season, as
Beau Chan '29 and
Jeremiah Tomioka '29 headlined the weekend with Top 5 performances.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Leading the way for the Cardinals, Chan swam a fourth-place time in the 200-yard fly, touching the wall at 1:57.88. Chan also swam in three team relays for the Cardinals.
- Placing fifth in the 1,650-yard free, Tomioka highlighted the distance events and swam a 16:52.69. Evan Byun '29 also earned a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, swimming a 59.48.
- In the 200-yard breaststroke, the Cardinals saw three finishes in the Top 10. Chris Winalski '29 placed sixth (2:13.18), Byun was seventh (2:13.26), and Daniel Isman '26 was eighth (2:14.97).
- Isman earned a seventh-place time in the 400-yard IM, touching the wall at 4:21.04.
- The 200-yard back saw Ben White '29 place sixth, finishing with a time of 2:03.37. Byun placed seventh (2:05.07).
- In the 400-yard medley relay, White, Chan, Byun, and Tomas Gonzalez '29 placed sixth, swimming a combined 3:36.21.
The Cardinals return to action in the new year, kicking off 2026 on Saturday, Jan. 3, when they host Babson.
