MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – First-year defender
Riley Harvey '29 of the Wesleyan. Men's soccer team was named the NESCAC Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is Harvey's first career Player of the Week honor.
Harvey and the Cardinals had a flare for the dramatic, as the first-year scored his first career goal just as time expired in a 1-0 win at Bates on Saturday. The Cardinals lined up a corner kick with four seconds showing on the clock and the left-footed corner from
Aiden Londergan '27 was headed in by Harvey in what was the final touch of the game. Harvey's contributions on defense also helped the Cardinals keep a clean sheet in the 1-0 shutout win over the Bobcats.
The Cardinals (3-2-1, 1-0-1 NESCAC) have a full week to prepare for a busy away weekend that sees Wesleyan travel to take on Tufts on Saturday and Middlebury on Sunday.
