The all-time leading scorer in the history of Wesleyan men’s lacrosse, John lifted the program to new heights during his career, capped by a 17-win senior season in 2001. In that 2001 season, Landay led the nation with 121 points (73 goals, 48 assists), setting a single-season points record that still stands today.

That 121-point season carried him to NESCAC Player of the Year, New England Player of the Year and Third Team All-American honors. He captained that 2001 squad, which helped set the bar high for all subsequent years of men’s lacrosse at Wesleyan. Incredibly, every season since John’s rookie year in 1998, the program hasn’t had a losing record.

His 186 career goals are still a program record while he was named All-NESCAC and All-ECAC throughout a prolific scoring career that saw him put up 306 points (186 goals, 120 assists) in 67 career games. On top of the 17-win season as a senior, John helped lead Wesleyan to the team’s first Little Three title since 1983.

John graduated from Wesleyan in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from Washington & Lee University in 2007. Now a partner at Landay Roberts LLP since November 2014, John has enjoyed an illustrious professional career as a lawyer. Among his various honors include San Diego Daily Transcript’s Young Attorney Award for 2013, San Diego Business Journal’s Best of the Bar in 2015 and 2017, California Rising Stars – Super Lawyers – 2017 and 2018 and a recent three-year run being named a California Super Lawyer (2020-22).
