Dynamic with the ball in his hands, Dennis broke eight school records as a running back and returner including most points scored in a career (168).
 
Among those eight records that Dennis broke during his career (that have since been broken) included most career touchdowns (28) and rushing scores (19). As a punt returner, Robinson set five records, all of which are still active today. He scored six punt return touchdowns, amassed 650 punt return yards, and averaged 16.7 yards per return over his career. During his senior year in 1978, Robinson averaged 29.2 yards per punt return which ranks fourth all-time in the NCAA across all divisions.
 
As a student, he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon and a sportswriter for the Argus and Middletown Press. He graduated from Wesleyan as a psychology & educational studies/history major, earning a teaching certification in social studies. He met his wife Anne Robinson ’81 at Wesleyan while their son and his wife (Michael and Lia (nee Monti)) are class of 2013 graduates.
 
After graduation, Dennis went on to enjoy a decorated career in sports including a span as president and CEO of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA). He was distinguished with the New Jersey American Planning Association Award for helping construct the Meadowlands Sports Complex masterplan. He later spent seven years as the senior vice president of business operations for the NBA.
 
His expansive list of honors also includes a Wesleyan Alumni Service Award, UMass Distinguished Alumni Award, Energy Executive of the Year: Meadowlands Sports Complex Energy Project, Northwest Catholic High School Athletics Hall of Fame, and Wesleyan’s 1970’s All-Decade Football team.
